Thanksgiving 2008

Jonah in a chef outfitWe had another nice Thanksgiving this year with the family.  Chris and I were tired of eating two turkey dinners on Thanksgiving so when we moved into our current condo with the big dining room we decided to host for both sides of the family.  We can just fit everyone at our table (when we add a card table to the end)  so it works out well.  The only people who were missing this year where Chris’s grandparents.  We were sad they couldn’t make it but we were thinking of them.

Jonah was a wonderful help in the kitchen the day before when I baked the pies and a couple of the other sides.  He helped me open cans and mix up ingredients.  You can see by the photo that he’s a mini chef in training.  He even knows to back away from the oven and because it’s “hot.”

In case we didn’t have enough desserts with my GF pumpkin pies, the pumpkin ice cream pie or Uncle Tim’s famous carrot bunt cake, my Aunt Lori also sent my mom a Thanksgiving cookie bouquet that was delicious, just ask Jonah.  I think he tried to eat a cookie about as big as his head!
