I read this a while ago and didn't know how to respond because it was so thoughtfully written. Losing someone you love is so hard and leaves me completely floored - I am impressed that you found the words (and strength) to write something so meaningful and beautiful. Your grandfather would have been proud (again). My condolences.

Chris- What a beautifully written letter to Jonah. It brought tears to my eyes. You, Julie and Jonah are lucky to have each other.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but know that your grandfather will always be with you.

Chris - I'm so sorry for your loss. I know you will miss your grandpa. What a beautiful post. I've always admired your thinking and writing, and I've always counted you among my few best friends. If there was any question as to why, I think this post answered it.

Dad told me you had planned to share this at Grandpa's funeral. All I can say is I'm sure glad you didn't because it would have rendered me completely non-functional with tears, and useless to Grandma for the rest of the day. :-)

This is truly beautiful Chris. I printed a copy for Grandma and I'll give it to her today when we go to see her.

Love,
Mom
