History of the J Man

It looks like everything they’ve been saying in the news for the past few months has finally hit our household.  I was laid-off this Monday with a joke of a severance package after 4 years of working there. 

They weren’t trying to be malicious or take advantage but I’m disappointed.  I liked being the Director of Marketing at Burwood Group.  I started there by myself to begin their marketing program.  It has been a lot of hands-on work bur I was able to launch a new website months after starting and put programs in place that are still running today.  At one point I managed a full-time marketing manager, marketing coordinator, graphic designer and two interns.  I learned a lot there and was always able to grow into added responsibilities for my role. 

This past January, partnership responsibilties were added and though it was a challenge I had some good ideas to put in place there.  As early as last month I flew out to Florida twice for training and client meetings.  The Cisco Velocity event I went to for training gave me a lot of new ideas for how to use social media and networking for business benefits.  Hopefully I’ll be able to use those ideas where ever I land next.  If you have ideas for me on jobs or can let folks in your network know that I’m looking that would be great.  You can view my LinkedIn profile at:  http://www.linkedin.com/in/jkoslendiehl .  Link to me if you haven’t already.
